1Who can purchase Wedding Insurance?
Residents of U.S. may purchase coverage. The Insured / Policyholder, Bride and Groom must be at least 18 years of age. A honoree will always be defined as an insured on the policy but may or may not be the named insured. The Named Insured can be either of the honorees or someone such as a parent or other family member that has a financial stake in the wedding.

Please note: The Wedding Protector Plan® is currently not available to residents of Alaska, Hawaii, & Louisiana.
2Why should I purchase Wedding Insurance?
Should you experience a covered loss, your non-recoverable costs can be as much, if not more, than the cost an automobile. 4What does the basic policy insure?
The basic policy (Core Coverage) can reimburse you in case you lose your non-recoverable deposits and purchases if covered circumstances beyond your control cause you to cancel or postpone your wedding. You can also be protected against no-show or bankrupt vendors, damage to wedding attire, damaged gifts and much more.
5What if I have already signed contracts and put down deposits for the wedding? Will those be covered?
Yes, deposits you have already made will be covered as long as there is no impending claim or existing claim situation that you have knowledge of when you purchase the policy.
6How much Wedding Insurance do I need?
It is recommended that you choose a coverage level equal to the amount you would stand to lose in a worst-case scenario if you were forced to reschedule your wedding at the last minute. Consider costs and deposits of venue, gown, wedding rings, caterers, entertainment, flowers, cake, invitations, even postage, etc.
7I live in one State, but, my Wedding will be in a different state. What state do I choose for a quote?
You should select the state in which you reside.

8Many people are helping to pay for the wedding? Will their deposits be protected?
Yes, under the core coverage “Insured” means the Named Insured, each honoree and any other family member or acquaintance of an honoree who has paid for or contracted to pay for any item, service or location covered under the policy.

It is important to keep all receipts and contracts in the case you must file a claim.
9Is there coverage if the Bride and Groom cannot make the ceremony due to a transportation shutdown?
f you have to cancel or postpone your wedding because a commercial transportation shutdown prevents the honorees, parents, grandparents or children of the honorees from getting to the event, you can receive reimbursement for non-recoverable expenses.
10Does Wedding Insurance provide coverage for illness or injury to the bride or groom?
Yes. Coverage will apply if there is an unexpected illness, injury or death that prevents the appearance of the honorees, parents, grandparents and children of the honorees or ceremony officiates. Refer to the policy for full details regarding exclusion of coverage with respect to pre-existing conditions.
11My fiancé is in the military? What if he/she is called up right before the wedding?
If circumstances beyond your control (for example, an unforeseen deployment or withdrawal of leave) cause you to cancel or postpone your wedding, we can provide reimbursement for non-recoverable expenses.
12Am I covered in case of bad weather on my wedding day?
The Wedding Protector Plan® makes a distinction between a rainy day and truly severe or catastrophic weather, such as a hurricane. If catastrophic weather causes you to cancel or postpone the wedding, we can provide reimbursement for non-recoverable expenses.
13When should I buy Wedding Insurance?
Coverage can be purchased as early as 2 years before your wedding day and as late as 24 hours before your event in most states. We recommend you purchase coverage as soon as you begin making deposits and purchases for this event. Purchases already made can be covered provided you have receipts for them and you did not know of any impending or existing claim situations when you purchased insurance.
14Can I purchase Wedding Insurance for Weddings outside the U.S.?
Yes. You can purchase coverage for locations in U.S. and its territories and possessions, Puerto Rico, Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Turks, Caicos, the Caribbean Islands (excluding Cuba & Haiti) and cruise ships leaving from a port within these territories. There is no additional cost for these locations.
15How do I purchase a policy?
Buying a wedding insurance policy is as easy as…

16How will I receive my Wedding Insurance policy?
Upon purchase, your policy will be emailed to the email addresses you entered in the application.
17Can I view a sample policy?
Yes, you can view a sample policy specific to your state. View Sample Policy.
18What is the refund policy for the Wedding Protector Plan® Insurance policy?
Policy premium, taxes, and any other charges are fully earned once the policy is issued with exception of residents of New York and Oregon.
19Does the Wedding Protector Plan® Wedding Insurance provide any coverage if I cannot go on my honeymoon?
If your wedding is canceled due to a necessary and unavoidable covered reason, any non-recoverable travel and accommodations for your honeymoon may be covered under the Cancellation / Postponement coverage up to the covered limit on the policy.

Postponement or cancellation of the honeymoon for any other reason other than cancellation or postponement of the wedding will not be covered under the Wedding Protector Plan®.
20Does the Wedding Protector Plan® Special Event Insurance cover “Change of Heart”?
The Special Event Insurance Policy does not provide coverage in the event that either the bride or groom changes their mind and does not want to proceed with the wedding.
21What does Liability Insurance cover?
Liability Insurance is an optional coverage that can provide coverage for bodily injury, property damage, and personal injuries to third parties at the location of your event. You also have the option to include liquor liability coverage, which protects you from alcohol related suits brought as a result of an intoxicated guest who was served alcohol at a wedding you hosted. You may add your Venue(s) as Additional Insured at no additional cost.

Please note: Liquor liability is currently not available to residents of Maine or Massachusetts.
22Do I have to buy liability insurance?
Liability coverage is an optional addition to your Wedding Protector Plan®. However, you may wish to contact the locations where you will hold your Wedding Ceremony and Reception as they may require you to show proof of liability insurance.
23What does the Liquor Liability Insurance cover?
Liquor liability coverage may be added to the liability coverage you purchase for a nominal fee. Liquor liability coverage is designed to protect you and your immediate family against alcohol-related accidents. For example, if an accident is caused by an intoxicated guest at the event site, that could result in liability for you. Liquor Liability coverage is available up to the liability limit on the policy.

Please note: Liquor liability is currently not available to residents of Maine or Massachusetts.
24Does the Wedding Protector Plan® Liability Insurance have a deductible?
No, there is no deductible with our liability insurance coverage. Many of the other event insurance providers have high deductibles.
25My venue requires me to show proof of Liability Insurance for my wedding. Is Special Event Liability Insurance appropriate for this?
Yes, the liability endorsement on the special event policy will allow you to name your Ceremony, Reception, and Rehearsal Dinner venue as additional insured at no additional cost.
26My venue requires special wording for the Additional Insured. Is this acceptable?
In most cases special wording is not a problem, however it is recommended you call our customer service line for assistance or email us with the specific language required so we can determine if it is acceptable.
27Can I add my other wedding vendors to my policy, such as my band or DJ?
No, the Wedding Protector Plan® offers coverage for the Named Insured and the Honorees. The venue is the only entity that can be added as an Additional Insured.
28My event is running past midnight. How long do I have liability coverage?
The liability portion of your policy remains in force until 2am the morning following your insured event date.
29How do I make a claim?
